Short.cm integrates with Heap via Segment. Segment collects data about clicks from the Short.cm account and sends it to the Heap analytics.

Note: Integrations via Segment require the Personal Plan.

The integration via Segment simplifies the way of installing Heap. You don’t need JS code, just point Short.cm API key and Heap ID.

Straight to the video guide or follow the instruction below:

1. Go to your Segment workspace.

2. Add a source app.

3. Connect the Website - JavaScript mode.

4. Add Short.cm URL.

5. Choose Settings.

6. Click API Keys.

7. Copy an API Key.

8. Go to your Short.cm account.

9. Open Domain Settings.

Click Tracking

10. Paste the API Key to the Segment field and save.

11. Add a Destination app.

12. Search for Heap and click its icon.

13. Configure Heap.

14. Select the Short.cm website and confirm.

15. Go to Heap and copy the App ID. You can find the snippet containing your app ID in Heap's QuickStart docs. It's inside the heap.load('YOUR-APP-ID') function call.

16. Paste the App ID to Segment and save.

17. Turn on the Heap Settings.

18. Open the Overview page and check if the integration is active.
